Brand watch: Visvim

We find inspirations in various things in life.  Needless to say, fashion designers and brands move our emotions and motivate us to create something beautiful. 

Last week, I was invited to the launch party of a super cool Japanese brand Visvim at 180 the store in Tribeca.

Visvim was founded in Tyokyo, in 2001 by designer Hiroki Nakamura. 

Initially it was a shoe brand (a pair ranges around $650-1000!) that focused its attention on absolute comfort and construction.  Visvim founder Hiroki Nakamura with Eric Clapton

Now its product range has expanded to clothing including a women's wear WMV, designed by Hiroki's wife Kelsi Nakamura.

Their fashion empire which is now turning over $100million has some famous fans including John Mayer, Pharrell Williams, Eric Clapton!

The motto of the brand is to bring the old technique to the current fashion, passing the past to the future. We can witness their love to craftsmanship once you touch their products.

Their popup shop is at 180 the store in Tribeca NYC (180 Duane Street) for a few months. Don't miss this chance to see the great quality of their products in person.
